Data Systems & Global Missions Coordinator · Freedom House International

Three years ago I saw the power of the gospel firsthand on a mission trip with FHI in Zambia. I remember walking out of a tiny concrete jail cell saying "no work will ever compare to being used by God like that."

I believe the gospel is the power to save and transform lives because I have seen it firsthand. The reality that two thousand years ago God entered our broken world in the person of Jesus Christ, poured out His love on the cross, and rose again, defeating sin and death. Three years ago this gospel marked me. It marked me with a burden to see the Kingdom that He inaugurated on that cross come to fruition.

This calling has led me to serve full-time on staff with FHI as the Data Systems and Global Missions Coordinator. It's an unconventional role that beautifully joins my background in Data Science with my passion for the great commission.

Below you'll find more about the vision God has given me, the work I'm privileged to be a part of, and how you can join me in seeing the gospel reach the nations.

The Opportunity

Christianity in America is, as many have said, a mile wide and an inch deep. The western church is incredibly resourced, but yet the Great Commission often seems distant from our congregations. We have more churches and more resources than any generation in history, and yet only 28% of American Christians are both being discipled and discipling others (Barna Group). Less than 50% of Protestant pastors have an intentional discipleship plan for their congregation (Lifeway Research, 2025). And when it comes to global missions, American Christians direct just 0.5% of their giving toward people who have never heard the gospel (The Traveling Team). God's Kingdom is advancing amongst the nations and there is a call for us in the west to be a part of it.

The Call and Our Response

Jesus was extremely clear; "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations" (Matthew 28:19). "This gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations" (Matthew 24:14). In Romans 1, Paul writes of his longing to visit the church in Rome, not just to preach the gospel, but to be mutually encouraged, to impart and receive. He traveled to these churches to teach and preach, but also to walk alongside them and build up the local body. That is still the model.

Freedom House International exists as a direct response to that call. Through partnerships with local churches and ministries in Africa, South America, and the Middle East, FHI comes alongside what God is already doing. Short-term mission teams join the work locals are leading, doing evangelism and ministry in the community but ensuring the fruit links back to those local churches. Something also happens to the people on these teams. Worship, prayer, evangelism, and small group discipleship are a part of every day life with FHI. People always go home changed. Some return to the states. Some are sent as long-term missionaries. Most go back to their communities hungry to know Jesus and make disciples.

Back in the states FHI also runs a discipleship school; nine months of teaching, worship, community, and outreach, followed by three months overseas on mission. We believe that God has called us to a life of discipleship both in the states and in the nations.

My Role

As FHI began to expand, so did the technological demands. In a world that is rapidly advancing alongside a ministry that is rapidly growing, a need arose for someone to focus on data systems. Alongside this FHI was also seeking to expand into the Middle East and needed someone willing to go. This is where my role was birthed. On the technical side, I build and manage the infrastructure that keeps FHI operating efficiently, freeing our teams to focus on people rather than spreadsheets. On the mission side, I work directly with global ministry partners in the Middle East, lead and support short-term mission teams, and help establish new ministry hubs in the 10/40 window. What my day-to-day looks like:

Data & Systems
  • Building a unified data system across FHI's platforms so leadership always has a clear picture of applications, fundraising, and finances
  • Automating reporting and data processes so the team spends less time on paperwork and spreadsheets and more time on people
  • Maintaining financial tracking and donor reporting to keep FHI operating with accountability and transparency
Global Missions
  • Partnering with Global Initiatives team to identify and establish new ministry hubs in the Middle East through vision trips and on-the-ground relationship building
  • Visiting and strengthening FHI's existing Middle Eastern ministry partners at least once a year
  • Leading FHI mission teams in the field; from logistics and planning to daily discipleship, worship, and ministry
